Cous Cous Fest
The Cous Cous Fest is the most significant event of the season in San Vito Lo Capo. What began as a small village festival in 1998 has evolved into one of Italy’s premier gastronomic events and an international celebration that welcomes chefs from all over the world every year.
Over the years, numerous renowned artists and entertainers have graced the Cous Cous Fest stage, including Mahmood, Alvaro Soler, Boomdabash, Negramaro, Francesco De Gregori, Fiorella Mannoia, Pino Daniele, Edoardo Bennato, Max Gazzè, Annalisa, Elio e le Storie Tese, Vinicio Capossela, Caparezza, Ermal Meta, Giusy Ferreri, Irene Grandi, Noemi, Tinturia, and many more.
The festival takes over the streets of San Vito Lo Capo each year with the "Dish of Peace," which in 2019 was recognized as an Intangible Cultural Heritage by UNESCO.
The 2025 edition of the Cous Cous Fest will run from September 19th to 28th.
Festa di San Vito
Among the events in San Vito Lo Capo’s calendar, the Festa di San Vito is likely the most cherished by the locals. Celebrated on June 15th, this festival honors the town’s patron saint. The most anticipated moments of the festivities include:
Il Gioco dell’antenna a Mare: a traditional game played on a greased pole suspended over the sea.
La Rievocazione dello Sbarco dei Santi: a reenactment of the saints' landing, an event rich in history and devotion.
The Festa di San Vito has been on pause for the past two years, but there is hope that it will return soon to bring joy and unity back to the community.
